Riding Modern Art, an exhibition by French artist Raphaël Zarka, is currently open at the Institut français du Japon in Iidabashi, Tokyo. The exhibition is a photograph series that captures skateboarders and public art. Photos from the artbook of the same name have been featured in skating magazines and the pieces in this exhibition have been displayed with the consent of both the skateboarders and the sculptors. It is a wonderful meeting of the boundless energy sought for through skateboarding and the beautiful scenery of public art. It is an invaluable opportunity to reconsider the possibilities of urban spaces.
