“Attraction and Repulsion”, an exhibition by contributing editor to Subsequence and artist Mayumi Yamase, is currently open at i GALLERY OSAKA. The exhibition features various three-dimensional pieces along with 22 new canvas works.

“I am fascinated by the opposing forces of repulsion and attraction that arise within living beings. For this exhibition, I directed my focus on these sensory forces in my creations.” – Mayumi Yamase.
As Yamase herself states, various opposing forces are present in her work. This exhibition demonstrates how the unbound shapes and colors she creates come together but at the same time also maintain their distance. Clarity and vivacity exist alongside subtlety and tension.
