Ryoji Hirose, an artist who illustrated Akiko Wakana’s Personal essay in issue 7 of Subsequence, has an exhibition which is currently being held at Kinkan Gallery in Meguro, Tokyo.

Hirose first started making art when he worked at Out Of Style, an antiques shop in Gaienmae, and these first pieces were created using the store’s various wares. By attaching and assembling parts made from a whole variety of materials, Hirose creates beautiful, handmade works of art that come together in surprising harmony.
