Chilean artist Cécilia Andrews’ first-ever solo exhibition in Japan is currently open at Gallery 38 in Tokyo. Born in Chile in 1969, Andrews moved to France in her twenties and is currently based in Paris. Through the combination of various materials, from paper to resins, magnets to metals, she creates pieces whose forms hint at a human silhouette. This exhibition features a number of her works in which she has integrated braille. Filled with elements that seem almost like a device or mechanic, Andrews’s oeuvre will certainly inspire interpretations that are in the eye of the beholder.
