Aiko Hama, an illustrator who also contributes for Subsequence, has just self-published “M e m / o / r a n / d u m”, and to celebrate the publication, a special one-day exhibition is being held in Tokyo.
“M e m / o / r a n / d u m” is a design project that began when Hama stumbled upon a notebook her mother had written over fifty years ago when she was sorting through her late grandfather’s things. Hama combines the words of her mother, who was a piano teacher, with various animals. “M e m / o / r a n / d u m” is composed of four volumes which resonate with one another like a musical suite.
The exhibition will be held in Ituki , a space near Gakugei-daigaku Station in Tokyo that opened just this past April as the third Junbicyu space. It’s only on for one day, so don’t miss out!
