WaNa is a collaborative project by craft artists Moe Watanabe, who works with natural materials like the epidermis of plants, and Jiro Nagase, who specializes in aluminum. The pair decided that they wanted to diverge from their usual way of working, wherein both artists solely deal with their own chosen material, and so decided to work together to create pieces that bring together their individual expertise and techniques around the theme of wall hooks. They began this project from the stance of not knowing what will happen unless they actually gave it a go. Various questions were born as they combined their materials and methods; through the process they encountered unexpected solutions too. Come and see the results of their collaboration at their exhibition in Tokyo.
