“The book chooses the reader.” Running off this theme, The Book Chooses, published by Ao-Hata Publishing this past November, dives into a survey conducted with book designers and graphic designers which asks them to talk about a book that is special to them. The one caveat is that although the interviewees discuss how they encountered the book, its content, and how it is shelved, they do not reveal its title. The interviewees are Experimental Jetset (Netherlands), ShinShin (Korea), ori.studio (China), Yuri Suyama (Japan), Natsuko Yoneyama (Japan), Shunsuke Onaka (Japan), and Satoshi Machiguchi (Japan). The interviews reveal an intimate look at various books with the thrilling curiosity of not knowing their titles. This publication is for book lovers everywhere.
