‘Almost as much water flows underground in Kyoto as in Lake Biwa’. The exhibition Water Calling, a project by French designer Isabelle Daëron and curator Yoshiko Nagai to draw water flowing under the invisible underground, has opened at Murin-an, Kyoto. The new work is a map that transcends time and space, showing the invisible underground world and the points above ground where one can touch the underground water. Through the exhibition and events, the project asks how drawing and storytelling can work towards understanding the natural environment, including water.
