The Iwatate Folk Textile Museum in Jiyugaoka, Tokyo, which we wrote about in Issue 4 of this magazine, will close the triennial exhibition of its treasured collection in December. It is a shame that we will no longer have the opportunity to see the beautiful textiles from around the world that Hiroko Iwatate, the museum’s director, has been collecting for over 50 years, but we thank her for her work and hope to meet her in the future.
The last exhibition in the series is “Kantha – A Gift from My Mother”.
Many Kantha, stitching clothes from West Bengal, India and Bangladesh, are on display. The exhibition will run until Saturday, December 11.
Reservations are preferred. For reservations, please visit the website.
