“ATELIER TOA” once existed in a single room inside a building in Nagasaki and was known as the shop with the “drawers”, which became a traveling exhibition of sorts following its closure, bringing important objects to places all over. The month of May brings beautiful fresh greenery to the Kyotamba area of Kyoto, where the exhibit will travel to Gallery Hakuden. Shopkeeper Yuko Isogawa collects unique pieces in pursuit of an original beauty that is defined by her natural sensibilities that overcome barriers of culture and language. It will surely be fascinating to see how she will present her selections within the small space of the gallery that stands surrounded by the modest mountains of the Tanba region. This will be a special occasion where the work of human hands and their made objects will harmoniously interact with the natural world in its purest form.
