SMOKING HEADS is a handbook published this past May by Kyoto-based twin artists, the Daido brothers. A selection of photographs from the book are on display at SMOKING AREA, an exhibition which is currently underway at Zekkeisha in Ginowan, Okinawa.

Focusing on the act of smoking, the exhibition and book cast their gaze on smokers—including the photographer. The book has been designed to look like a cigarette pack (reminiscent of the old packet for Lark) and it’s incredibly cool with even the plastic wrapping being reproduced. The rough edges and imperfections of the handmade book represent the brothers’ insubordinate spirit.
